Bhagat singh The Great

[After understanding bhagath and his views, I feel RSS has insulted this great man]

Swami Vivekananda gave a call in one of his lectures

"For the next fifty years this alone shall be our keynote — this, our great Mother India. Let all other vain gods disappear for the time from our minds"

It seems only person who heard this call and implemented it till his last breath was Bhagath singh. Most of us know Bhagath singh in the form of revolutionary, 21 days fast, his love for his country... but very few know that he was social reformer too.

Bhagath sing wrote 2 articles few days before he was hung. One article “Why I am atheist” among it shows his views on social reforms for our nation. It’s of atmost importance so as to rebuild our nation. Let us witness his views as below from his own passages

Thrashes Hindu Rebirth and takes Hindu ancestors to task:

Hindus, would say: Whosoever undergoes sufferings in this life, must have been a sinner in his previous birth. It is tantamount to saying that those who are oppressors now were Godly people then, in their previous births. For this reason alone they hold power in their hands. Let me say it plainly that your ancestors were shrewd people. They were always in search of petty hoaxes to play upon people and snatch from them the power of Reason

Thrashes Hindu priestly class attitude:

What, according to your theory, is the fate of a person who, by no sin of his own, has been born into a family of low caste people? He is poor so he cannot go to a school. It is his fate to be shunned and hated by those who are born into a high caste. His ignorance, his poverty, and the contempt he receives from others will harden his heart towards society. Supposing that he commits a sin, who shall bear the consequences? God, or he, or the learned people of that society? What is your view about those punishments inflicted on the people who were deliberately kept ignorant by selfish and proud Brahmans? If by chance these poor creatures heard a few words of your sacred books, Vedas, these Brahmans poured melted lead into their ears. If they committed any sin, who was to be held responsible? Who was to bear the brunt? My dear friends, these theories have been coined by the privileged classes.

Learn to question:

Question every old belief, if they cannot face, they shall fall, in such case thrash them, give way for rebuilding. This is the positive and creative aspect. I reject the old time beliefs, it is not a matter of countering belief with belief, and rather I can challenge the efficacy of old beliefs with sound arguments. We believe in nature and that human progress depends on the domination of man over nature. There is no conscious power behind it.

Religion a hindrance to national unity:

Outright slap on Religion, says is a tactic devised by ruling class so that they can cheat suppressed class, by ensuring legalization of privileges and power, set aside exclusively for their class. Also to keep them silent in a social environment. Where concrete proofs are lacking, [mystical] philosophy creeps in. As I have indicated, one of my revolutionary friends used to say that “philosophy is the outcome of human weakness.”

But how will the suffering people in the hands of the kings get motivated?

yes Surely not with the thought of becoming a king in next birth as Hindu thinks, nor as a Muslim or Christian who think about heavenly pleasures. But only means to come out of this slavery is by treading the path of independence. Can such a heroic path be tagged as prestige, pride or vanity?

Joining Revolutionary party changed his views:

He writes "No more mysticism! No more blind faith! Now realism was our mode of Thinking". To lead the party i had to study I studied Bakunin, Marx. I also read Lenin and Trotsky and many other writers who successfully carried out revolutions in their countries. By the end of 1926, I was convinced that the belief in an Almighty, Supreme Being who created, guided and controlled the universe had no sound foundations.

Conclusion:

After reading his article, i was pained seeing how RSS is using his photo in its Hindu agenda. It’s an insult to the great man. A man who spent all his life thinking about national integrity and freedom. The man who discarded philosophy of religion and GOD is being tagged with the sordid game of religion, caste and politics.

Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamaare dil mein hai
Dekhna hai zor kitna baazu-e-qaatil mein hai

Can we understand the above two lines in the realm of caste
